Wow she is great - I heard WHO I AM back in 2000 on the radio, but didn t care about it enough to find out who it was. Honestly I thought it was a one hit wonder. Now in 2007 I hear the same song again really impressed with the voice, so I want to find out who did it. Now that I know it is Jessica Andrews I am hearing all her other songs, but I m wondering why I never heard more from her. Her voice is great, (not just really good, but great) but I guess I wasn t impressed with the one particular song at the time. But why didn t I hear these other songs??? I don t think she got any exposure!?
Almost Perfect Album From One Of My Favorite Singers - The first 2 albums from Jessica Andrews (heart shaped world, and who I am) are 2 of my very favorite albums and the very first song I ever heard from Jessica was More To Me Than You from this very CD Now from the first time I heard it I fell in love with that beautiful song and with this amazing singershe is absolutely amazing,I can t stress this enough and I m a lead singer in a hard rock band and my favorite style of music is hair metal and yet here I am absolutely obsessed with this great country singer (much like my absolute favorite singer LeAnn Rimes)I would honestly not consider any of these albums from Jessica as Country because there are no annoying over used banjos or fiddles...just good straight forward well-thought out songsthe album opens with more to me than you which is absolutely brilliant and one of the stand out songs of the albumit then goes to when gentry plays guitar which has lots of atmosphere and really let s jessica s voice shinefrom there is the highlight of the album in my opinion, the beautiful ballad I wish for you I confess I had tears when I first heard this song,it s that beautiful,it s a song about wishing love and happiness for someonefrom there it just continues with near perfection to love you once is awesome you re the man Cowboy guarantee and the incredibly sexy and cute second Sunday and the album finishes with God don t give up on us a very serious song about the state of the worldand finishes with Good Time which has such a down home good time feel that you ll find yourself singing along (kinda reminds me of something the dukes of hazzard would listen to,but this is the only song that fits in that catagory)over all this is nearly perfectthe only thing missing that prevents me from giving it a 5 star is it has a bit too much of a sad vibe to it,too many slow songsand the cute sexiness that she had in her voice for the first 2 albums is all but gone on this one (with the exception of second Sunday)but it s still one amazing album from start to finish and I would recommend it to anyone, not just country fans but fans of all styles of musicthe upside - Jessica is amazing, these songs are nearly perfect, the standouts are more to me than you second Sunday I wish for you and God don t give up on us the downside - a bit too many slow songs weigh it down slightlythe bottom line - this is nearly perfection,Jessica please release a new album! She has the perfect voice to take the music business by stormI recommend this to fans of all styles of music, the songwriting is top notch and Jessica is a true musical force...donutman says so!!!
Genuine Music lover - This is a great album....i love jessica andrews all her albums are great i loved every one of them and this one is no exception..those of you who say this ablum isn t good cause its not country enough aren t true music lovers..who cares if it s not country enough...forget about all that and just listen and try to enjoy the music.......
Pretty good - This album is pretty good. It s not AMAZING but there are a lot of good songs. Touching songs, like They Are the Roses and God Don t Give Up On Us. The problem though, is that while listening to this album, you start to think that all the material on it are ballads. Some of the ballads are even confusing, like To Love You One. There s also a lot of songs on this album...16 songs, and the sound is more country pop than contemporary country, but it s still a great listen! She has a great and raw voice.
SHE SOUNDS JUST LIKE FAITH OR MARTINA..... - Some of the songs here are good, most notably Never Be Forgotten.....beautiful. I heard this song on the radio and I thought it was Faith Hill or Martina McBride singing. Herein lies the problem. The song is good, the voice is good. But if she sounds like Faith or Martina, there s no distinction to set her off from the rest of the pack out there. Add to this that this is mostly bubble-gum pop and not country....there s really nothing that stands out here. Why are recording companies giving contracts to people who sound like everybody else out there? That s the question.
